Interface blocks Vektor BIV1-UART/RS485, etc.
- The explosion-proof interface blocks are designed to connect PLPXXXXU-EX level sensors to industrial information networks and communication systems via the RS-485 interface (MODBUS RTU).
The BIV units are made in explosion-proof Exd[ia]IIBT5, provided with an explosion-proof shell “d” and built-in intrinsic safety barriers [ia], for connecting level sensors of the PLPXXXXU-EX type. When using BIV in conjunction with PLP sensors, it is not necessary to install an intrinsic safety barrier. BIV can be mounted on the housing of the PLP level sensors or at a distance from them, but not more than 20 meters.
The use of wireless interface blocks of the BIV2-UART/ISM868 type is technically justified in places where cable laying is difficult or impossible and economically advantageous in places where the cable length for connecting sensors exceeds 200 m.
